CROISSANTS FOR GOALPOSTS is a deadpan comedy series that follows the naive attempt of a recently retired young footballer to redefine himself as a patisserie chef while struggling to come to terms with the bitter taste his career-ending injury has left.

A messy leg break cut Jordan Morgan’s career short. This life-changing event was a bitter pill for Jordan to swallow, and too overwhelming to fully confront. In denial about the reality of life after football, Jordan is instead focusing his energy, and finances, into his ridiculous new business venture. Why a patisserie? Blame his on-loan season at Bordeaux FC, where his eyes were opened to the delights of delicate French cakes.
Jordan decides to set up a vlog as a 'how-to guide' for any aspiring businesspeople out there as he attempts to build his patisserie empire from the comfort of his parents' spare bedroom.

Filmed as a video diary monologue, the series is set entirely in a spare bedroom.

It's semi-autobiographical in nature as, like the main character, I'm a proud West Walian and have just hung up my football boots for good. As pathetic as it may seem, this represents quite a painful watershed moment for many young men as they accept that life moves on.

I aim to develop this project into a series of short-form scenes, that can be stitched together to create narrative episodes that form a story arc for the series. I'm keen to work with a comedy producer to develop the project and bring it to life.
