What's it all about

My project is a mockumentary which, in short, focuses on Saul Holman (secret son of Vanessa Feltz) and his polar opposite best friend Kimberly Clarke, as they try to regain Saul’s enormous monthly allowance after his mother Vanessa cuts him off for public sly bringing shame on their family after she’d purposefully kept him out of the limelight and for good reason. Now, jumping on the reality band wagon, Saul has secured himself a film crew for the purpose of showing off his fabulous and opulent lifestyle, being unceremoniously changed to finding degrading work in order to sustain his lavish existence.

Vanessa has seen this pilot and herself and her agent have given me their full green light to appear as my mum should we get the green light. I have all six episodes written up (although it is mockumentary style) and part of the cast in place. I’m still looking for a channel to house my comedy and working proactively on getting it commissioned, although needless to say, any help or anyone wishing to take it further will be welcomed with open arms.

My team consists of myself (actor/producer/writer), co-stars Louise Fellows, Vanessa Feltz, Stephanie Leonidas and Pat Boxall as our voice over narrator. I've been heavily supported by James Harness (a BBC video editor), but that post may need to be re-filled for the full series. I have a DOP Max Rose-Fyne but there are still vacancies to fill in my team. These roles include director, costume, wardrobe, location manager and AD. So far I’ve taken on all these roles or delegated them amongst my current team members, but as we expand they will need to be filled when we find interest from production companies wishing to take my project to the next level where we discuss the full six-part series being commissioned and filmed for TV or Netflix.

It has a distinct offbeat feel to it and while the mockumentary genre is nothing new, the new spin on mine is Vanessa playing herself with me as her ‘son’. There are roles to be cast in my production but at this stage, I have no budget, so anyone who sees something in my work and feel they can take it further would be more than welcome to chat with me. I’m looking for investors and crew but above all, a nice head of comedy from somewhere like Netflix to make this dream come true.
