Geoff Healey - Behind The Music

What's it all about

Behind The Music is a mockumentary ten-part series… featuring a version of myself as the subject - a small-time professional musician/recording artist - and additional characters (all played by me), with occasional voice-over assistance from others. I am the sole creator of the concept, script, characters and music, and have to date personally compiled and edited each episode.

The episodes are set to broadcast on IGTV each Wednesday (and mirrored to YouTube and Facebook), are being shot in IGTV portrait mode and are short - currently between around 2 to 5 minutes each - to cater for the short-attention-span-appetites of social media.

At the time of writing, two episodes have been broadcast on social media, a third is broadcast-ready and several more are either in production or written.

I'm of the opinion that the single-camera mockumentary style of tv comedy is still very much in its infancy, and I am planning to take this particular series and it's characters as far as possible, with a view towards expansion and distribution well beyond social media.

We are looking for :

Having written and produced the first 5 episodes, I'm beginning to get the feeling that the show would definitely benefit from another comedy brain; That is, somebody who understands the kind of show I'm trying to make, and has good ideas for future episodes, characters and so on. I guess the inspiration which most comes to mind is Australian comedian Chris Lilley, at least insofar as he plays all the characters in his shows. Whilst I don't want to do anything that would seem like a copy of what Chris is doing, that style of comedy and character conceptualization is what I'm really going for....

I think the character of Cliff Clough - who dominates in episode three - has tremendous potential, while the character of Geoff is really a means to an end, and an anchor for the show as a whole.

Anyway - I'm open to suggestion!
